Lindsay Lohan’s surprise pregnancy did welcome some unwarranted claims from haters.
The Mean Girls star announced the arrival of her first child, son Luai with her husband Bader Shammas via People on Monday, expressing that the family is "over the moon in love."
Fans jumped with joy and soon flooded the actress’ social media with best wishes and prayers. Watching a former child star having a child of their own does spark a nostalgic feeling of whirlwind emotions. However, not everyone bought into an unexpected pregnancy.
Taking to Twitter last week, right-wing writer Megha alleged that Lohan wasn’t actually pregnant owing to her past with drugs and is originally going to human traffic a random kid from war-torn Ukraine.
"She’s not pregnant. She’s wearing a moon bump. You can’t do hard drugs for decades and then still be fertile in your late thirties," she wrote under the actress’ pregnancy photoshoot. "Some woman in Ukraine is carrying a child she will human traffic in a few months."
Internet users were not pleased by the writer’s unsubstantiated claims and immediately called her out for using an issue as sensitive as human trafficking for attention and views.
"Accusing a woman of faking her pregnancy just because she used to do drugs is a braindead and insensitive take," one user responded. "It also shows how you know nothing about fertility."
"Having been married to someone who does prenatal care for almost a decade now, gotta say you’re talking out your ass here," another added.
"Good lord give me the strength to off myself if I ever become so jobless that I start commenting on who is pregnant and who is not. Jeez," a third retorted.
