Rosie O'Donnell praises Madonna's parenting

Rosie O'Donnell is reflecting on her more than three-decade friendship with Madonna, revealing how the singer's disciplined parenting style has remained a defining part of her life off stage.

In an interview with People, O'Donnell described Madonna as someone who runs a "very tight ship" at home, saying the music icon has always maintained structure and clear expectations while raising her six children. 

O'Donnell contrasted that with her own more relaxed approach as a mother of five, joking that their parenting styles were very different.

The pair first met while filming the 1992 sports comedy A League of Their Own, where they played teammates and close friends. 

According to People, their on-screen chemistry soon developed into a lasting friendship that has endured through decades of career highs and personal milestones. 

O'Donnell said they bonded over the shared experience of losing their mothers at a young age, creating a connection that extended far beyond Hollywood.

Their families also spent time together over the years, with O'Donnell recalling playdates involving their children. 

While Madonna carefully managed schedules and routines, O'Donnell said her household was considerably less structured, adding that she admired her friend's commitment to parenting.

O'Donnell's comments come as she promotes her one-woman stage show, Common Knowledge, and prepares to guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live!. 

The comedian has recently spoken candidly about her personal life, including raising her autistic child Clay and rebuilding her relationship with daughter Chelsea.
