KATSEYE's latest post for Manon Bannerman sparks hope among fans

KATSEYE have publicly celebrated Manon Bannerman's birthday with a warm social media tribute, offering fans a touching reminder that the singer remains part of the group's story despite her ongoing hiatus.

The official KATSEYE World Instagram account shared a glamorous photo of the star alongside the message, "Wishing a happy birthday to @meretmanon!! Leave a birthday wish for her in the comments," inviting fans to join the celebrations.

The post quickly drew thousands of birthday wishes from the group's dedicated fanbase, with many supporters describing the gesture as reassuring after months of uncertainty surrounding Manon's absence.

In February, HYBE and Geffen Records announced that Manon would be stepping away from group activities temporarily to focus on her health and wellbeing. 

The announcement sparked concern among fans and fuelled widespread discussion online about her future with the international girl group.

Since then, KATSEYE members Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae have repeatedly expressed their support for their bandmate. 

During interviews, the group has insisted that Manon's wellbeing comes first, saying "the door is always open" whenever she feels ready to return.

Her hiatus also triggered divisions within the fandom, known as Eyekons. 

While many fans rallied behind Manon's recovery, others criticised the handling of the situation, accusing the label of failing to communicate clearly and raising concerns over the absence of the group's only Black and Swiss member. 

Some even organised online boycotts in protest.

Before stepping away, the 24-year-old singer had also spoken candidly about the realities of life in a global pop group, suggesting that balancing different personalities and relationships under constant public scrutiny could be challenging.

Although no timeline has been announced for her return, KATSEYE's public birthday message has been welcomed by many fans as a positive sign that the bond between Manon and her bandmates remains strong while she continues to prioritise her health.
