Marlon Wayans has sent fans into a frenzy after revealing he’d love to bring back the iconic sketch comedy series In Living Color, and insists only his family can properly revive it.
The 53-year-old actor starred in the groundbreaking 90s show alongside his famous siblings Damon, Shawn, Kim, and creator Keenen Ivory Wayans.
Now, he says a reboot could be on the cards, but only under the right conditions.
Speaking to Variety, Marlon admitted: “Maybe my calling is to reboot In Living Color! The only people that can do it is us.”
However, he was quick to acknowledge the pressure that comes with revisiting a cultural heavyweight.
The original series, known for its fearless humour and boundary-pushing sketches, was spearheaded by Keenen Ivory Wayans, whom Marlon called the “beating heart” of the show.
“In Living Color died one season after Keenen left because he was the beating heart of that show,” he said, adding that recreating that magic week after week “is hard to execute.”
Still, White Chicks star hasn’t ruled it out entirely, pointing to Hollywood’s recent wave of revivals, including his own return to the Scary Movie franchise.
“Fifteen years ago I’d have said, ‘Hell no, the ship has sailed!’ But if God has it in our cards, maybe it can happen,” he said cautiously.
For now, the reboot remains a distant idea, but Him actor is clearly on a mission to revive comedy itself.
His upcoming Scary Movie 6 aims to “bring back laughter” and spark conversations across generations.
Describing it as a “rebooquel” set 26 years after the original, he promised an all-inclusive comedy designed to bridge Gen X to Gen Alpha.
