Olivia Rodrigo has opened up about a memorable night out with pop's self-proclaimed party queen, Charli XCX.
The 23-year-old singer admitted that she found herself completely out of her comfort zone.
The Good 4 U hitmaker shared the hilarious story during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, where she recalled joining Charli for what she believes may have been a rave.
Laughing about the experience, Olivia confessed she wasn't exactly prepared for the high-energy night.
“I actually went to a rave with her,” she said.
“I don’t even know if it’s a rave. I’m not like a party girl – she’s the ultimate party girl, obviously. I was a little out of my element, but I had the best time, and she was very lovely.”
While the deja vu crooner may not be a regular on the rave scene, the singer clearly enjoyed spending time with the 33-year-old pop superstar, who has built a reputation for her electrifying nightlife and party anthems.
The chart-topping star was on the show to perform a stripped-back version of CMAT’s When A Good Man Cries, a cover she put together with her father.
“I think that song is epic, and me and my dad had so much fun putting it together,” Olivia said.
“It’s kind of twangy and country, and the lyrics are super, super awesome and unique.”
The 360 singer is currently travelling the globe on her world tour and took the opportunity to praise support acts Wolf Alice and The Last Dinner Party.
“I think they’re amazing,” she said.
“I just love surrounding myself with musicians who inspire me.”
Meanwhile, Olivia recently revealed her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, reflects a happier chapter in her life, saying she wanted to prove she doesn’t need heartbreak and misery to write songs fans will love.
