Sheryl Crow has discussed the emotional difficulty of calling off her engagement to Lance Armstrong while battling breast cancer.
In a recent candid conversation, the singer told the host that the relationship ended during one of the hardest phases of her life.
“I was engaged, I had three beautiful stepchildren, I wanted to have kids with this person. We split in the same week … I got diagnosed with breast cancer,” the 64-year-old recalled on the Tuesday episode of Bobby Bones’ The Bobbycast podcast on Netflix.
“[Then] I found out he was seeing a really famous actress.”
She shared that she had been building a future with Armstrong, including plans to have children together, before their sudden split.
Soon after, she learned he had begun dating a “really famous actress.”
Moreover, she described the following months as deeply challenging, as she balanced treatment with emotional recovery.
“I really felt like I went through about nine months of radiation and grieving and anger,” she added.
For the unfamiliar, Crow and Armstrong dated from 2003 to 2006 and were briefly engaged before splitting.
Meanwhile, Armstrong had three children with ex-wife Kristin Richard, and later had two more children with Anna Hansen.
