Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara Jolie turned heads at her Spelman College graduation after appearing to skip “Pitt” from her surname while receiving her diploma.

The 21-year-old earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the college’s 139th commencement ceremony held in Atlanta on May 17, as listed in the official program under the name Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt.

However, when she walked across the stage to receive her diploma, she was announced as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” drawing buzz to her decision to use a shortened version of her surname in the public.

Notably, this isn’t the first time, in November 2023, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” while joining the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

She has also appeared publicly using her mother Angelina Jolie’s surname, including at the Pearls of Purpose Foundation’s Dearest Mother & Daughter: A Most Delightful Brunch Experience in April, where she spoke warmly about their relationship.

“Our love for each other is a found one. I was adopted at 6 months old and given some of the most special and loving people as my siblings...I am grateful to have had a role model to show me what it looks like to be a decent human being,” she said.
