Hugh Jackman recalls thinking of Ryan Reynolds while helping Blake Lively

Hugh Jackman opened up about a Met Gala moment that occurred with him and Blake Lively and how he thought of Ryan Reynolds at the time.

The Logan star has been a longtime friend of the wedded pair which is likely why he wondered about the Free Guy actor while helping the It Ends With Us actress avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

In an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle the two-time Tony winner stated, “There was another cool moment — I'm literally, as I'm saying it, thinking maybe you shouldn't say this — but Blake, my good friend Blake Lively, goes, ‘Dude, I need some help with the dress."

Jackman added that Blake said, “‘I think there's a hook in there,'” to which he gestured towards his chest, ““And I'm like, ‘OK,' I'm like, ‘Ryan [Reynolds], is this cool? Checking. Are we good?'"

The Van Helsing actor attended the prestigious night dedicated to fashion with his girlfriend Sutton Foster while Ryan skipped the event this year.

Jackman recalled elsewhere of the 2026 Met gala that it was great for people watching and the performance of Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Knicks were all really special moments.
