Dave Mason’s death has been announced by his publicist after the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer passed away on April 19.

The cause of death for the 79-year-old has not yet been revealed but he had cancelled a tour last year due to poor health.

As per the statement by the representative, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Mason.”

It added that Dave “lived a remarkable life devoted to the music and the people he loved,” and that he breathed his last peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, NV. Mason.

The celebrated singer gained notoriety as a member of the band he helped create, Traffic, and marked his contributions by writing the band’s biggest hits such as Feelin Alright and Hole in My Shoe.

Dave’s relationship with the band was tumultuous as he would join and then leave it, but the guitarist had a noteworthy solo career and was much wanted by fellow musicians.

Throughout the years, the late English songwriter had collaborated with the likes of George Harrison, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson and others, cementing his iconic legacy.
