Jessica Biel has recently broken her silence on viral parenting hack that uses her name to stop toddlers from throwing tantrums.
In a TikTok video posted on April 10, the 7th Heaven actress shares her honest reaction to the trend in which mother could be seen calling out the name ‘Jessica’ to distract their toddlers amid their emotional meltdown.
Biel, who shares two sons with husband Justin Timberlake, speaks to her followers, saying, she is not “really sure” how she feels about the so-called hack.
“I’m not really sure how I feel about this Jessica trend with moms and toddlers and now dogs apparently it’s working for – which is kind of amazing, I’m gonna try it on my dogs,” explains the 44-year-old.
But the real reason she urges parents not to use this trend is because she “feels half the kids in these videos look petrified” after hearing the name.
“I really love if I can come into your household with my name that I share with so many other incredible Jessicas around the world, I’m sure, and help you with your kids’ tantrum, but I sort of feel like these kids are terrified,” points out the Blade: Trinity actress in a social media clip.
Biel notes that these children “look terrified and hopeful that Jessica is not gonna show up”.
The Sinner actress opens up that she never wants this generation of kids to be afraid of people with her name due to this trend.
“Part of me wants to say, ‘You’re welcome. Glad I could be helpful. Glad all of us Jessicas could be helpful,” she remarks.
However, Biel requests the parents to “please don’t make your toddler terrified of people named Jessica, because we are good people”.
“We wanna help you with the tantrum, but we don’t wanna scare the kid,” adds the actress.
