Chappell Roan’s music was meant to start the day on a high, but instead it left NASA astronauts in space hanging.

During Saturday’s livestream from the Orion lunar mission, flight controllers played the pop star’s 2023 hit Pink Pony Club as a wake-up call for the four-astronaut crew.

But barely a minute in, the track abruptly cut out, stopping just before the chorus.

Commander Reid Wiseman couldn’t resist teasing Mission Control, quipping: “We were all eagerly awaiting the chorus.”

Laughter rippled through the broadcast as the Capsule Communicator promised to “try again next time” before outlining the day’s schedule.

The brief, light-hearted exchange became an instant hit with viewers, a rare moment of levity amid the high-pressure mission.

Wiseman and his team left Earth on April 2 for a landmark lunar journey, exploring parts of the Moon no human has ever seen.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Roan has been dealing with a very different kind of drama.

The 28-year-old pop star recently found herself in hot water after footballer Jorginho claimed his 11-year-old stepdaughter was left in tears after an “aggressive” encounter with a security guard in Brazil.

Roan released a video denying any involvement and her team confirmed she had no knowledge of the incident.

They insisted she holds her staff to “the highest standards” and has “zero tolerance” for any kind of aggressive behaviour toward her fans.
