Kelly Ripa has revealed she once underwent an unconventional cosmetic procedure, describing the decision as a “desperate measure” during a candid discussion on her podcast.
The 55-year-old host shared that she opted for micro needling, a treatment typically used on the face to improve skin texture, on another part of her body.
The procedure, which involves tiny needle punctures to stimulate collagen production, is widely used to address wrinkles, scarring and skin firmness.
Speaking openly, Ripa said the treatment did not deliver the results she had hoped for.
According to Daily Mail, reflecting on the experience, she noted that the outcome appeared unchanged despite undergoing the process.
The comments were made during a conversation with actor Lukas Gage, who discussed his own positive experience with micro needling for facial care.
Moreover, Ripa, however, suggested that the treatment may not be equally effective in all areas.
Known for her transparency, Ripa has frequently spoken about cosmetic treatments and ageing.
As per the outlet, she has previously shared that she takes a minimal approach to such procedures, opting for limited use of treatments like Botox in specific areas.
