Kelly Osbourne has revealed the family’s heartbreak after being repeatedly denied the chance to buy back their famous Beverly Hills mansion, the home where MTV’s reality TV smash The Osbournes was filmed.
The 38-year-old told Omaze Presents: Homes That Made Me that she, her mum Sharon Osbourne and brother Jack Osbourne have tried around ten times to reclaim the star-studded pad where they lived alongside late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last year aged 76.
“We’ve asked about 10 times if we can buy it back and they keep saying no, even though they’re never even there, the people who currently own it,” Kelly said.
“But it was a great house.”
The home holds a mix of happy and sad memories for Kelly.
It was where her life changed forever, thanks to the show’s huge success, but also where the 73-year-old TV star battled colon cancer in 2002.
“That house will always be one of the best places we ever lived,” she recalled.
“We had a lot of fun, but there was a lot of sadness too… But we made it through.”
Kelly also reflected on the legacy of The Osbournes, which ran from 2002 to 2005 and is widely credited with inventing celebrity-focused reality TV.
She admitted the show’s influence comes with mixed feelings.
“It’s crazy to think our family invented that style of television,” she laughed.
