Afroman’s case over his music video for Lemon Pound Cake has speedily proceeded and the jury deliberations are now over.

The singer, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, had been sued by several Adams County sheriff's deputies for defamation because he used surveillance footage from a 2022 raid over his house in the song’s video.

Foreman’s trial lasted two days, after it began on Monday, and the 51-year-old took the stand, invoked his first amendment and also financial necessity over the damage that occurred in the aftermath of the raid.

"In all circumstances, the jury finds in favor of the defendant; no plaintiff verdict prevailed," the judge presiding over the case, Jonathan Hein, announced on Wednesday.

The singer, dressed in the pattern of the American flag, reportedly had tears running down his face after the verdict was announced.

“I didn’t win, America won. America still has freedom of speech. It’s still for the people, by the people,” Foreman said to reporters outside the courthouse.

The Because I Got High singer had noted that he had been wrongfully raided and was not at home when it happened but his wife and children were.
