Brooklyn Beckham snubs David once again

Sir David Beckham came heartbreakingly close to seeing his eldest son Brooklyn twice in one day, and missed him both times.

The 50-year-old former England captain had flown in from a skiing trip in British Columbia with his middle son Romeo and checked in late Sunday night. 

By a twist of fate, Brooklyn was also staying at the hotel, having partied into the early hours at Sir Elton John's Oscars bash.

On Monday morning, David was up early to film a Lays commercial for the upcoming World Cup in Santa Monica, just five miles away. 

The 26-year-old former photographer, meanwhile, opted for a leisurely breakfast and a chill day by the hotel’s famous pool, soaking up the Californian sun.

Later that afternoon, he was seen sunbathing, just hours before David arrived at the Polo Lounge for dinner with friends including David Gardner, a former close pal of Brooklyn’s. 

Sources reveal the timing was almost cinematic as the father and son were mere yards apart at times, yet never crossed paths.

Friends say David “had no idea” the aspiring chef was at the hotel and that a face-to-face meeting would have been “very awkward,” given Brooklyn’s choice to keep his distance. 

For the unversed, the two haven’t spoken since last May, after Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz snubbed David’s 50th birthday celebrations, and he has since publicly criticised his parents.
