Anne Hathaway has been a long advocate of women’s right, bringing the significant issue in light while the world continues to face injustice.
The 43-year-old took the stage of the United Nations on the occasion of Women’s Day, raising an important question.
The Devil Wears Prada star acknowledged the pain and "proof of the stubborn imbalance of justice" in her speech.
She was of the opinion that everyone should feel honoured to be celebrating, showing resilience towards the prevalent practices.
However, the online community was not content with her speech at the forum as many called her out for being one of the “hypocrites,” while another question: “What rights do they talk about?”
Meanwhile, fans supported her stance with one admirer pointed out, “nails it, joy and celebration are powerful acts of resistance when the world is unfair.”
This comes as the Hollywood A-list star has several projects lined up that are coming out in 2026. These include The Odyssey, Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Flowervale and Verity.
The Ocean’s 8 actress, who is also confirmed to be a presenter, is all set to reunite with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt for the upcoming 98th Oscars, bringing back the fashion energy at the event.
