Kylie Jenner, who is the founder of Kylie Cosmetics, recently broke silence about the backlash she received when she first launched her famous lip kits.
The reality TV star was only 18-year-old, when she introduced her viral kits, that included lip liners and liquid lipsticks.
Now, recalling the first year after the launch of Vanity, the businesswoman has revealed how she was “harassed” because of the brand.
The 28-year-old revealed, “It wasn’t very exciting for me for the first year because I was so stressed out that everyone would harass me on Twitter at the time because they couldn’t get a lip kit,”
She added, “I couldn’t handle it because I really wanted to just make everyone happy.”
It is to be noted that the product was a big time hit, as the first “test run” 15,000 items were sold out within one minute and soon after, the website was also crashed.
The mother of two recalled that she used the money she made from modeling, which was around $250,000, into launching her brand, “My mom was like, ‘You are going to be left with lots of lip kits in your garage if this doesn’t work out.’ And it wasn’t even a thought that it wasn’t going to work out.”
It is to be noted that Kylie recently celebrated ten years of her brand by relaunching the iconic, “Lip Kit by Kylie.”
