Ben Stiller is taking action against the White House after they used a clip from the 2008 film Tropic Thunder in one of their videos.
The edit by the Trump administration was shared amid the ongoing war between Iran and the United States, apparently alluding to it.
"Justice the American way," was the caption of the clip, which featured a compilation of several movies and TV shows including Top Gun, Superman, Transformers, Breaking Bad, Iron Man and more along with the Severance creator’s comedy film.
In response to the clip from the movie being used in the edit, Stiller wrote on his X, “Hey White House, please remove the Tropic Thunder clip. We never gave you permission and have no interest in being a part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie.”
The comedian is one of the numerous entertainers that have blasted the President of the United States and his team, with names such as Bruce Springsteen, Linkin Park, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and Radiohead, Sabrina Carpenter and now Kesha.
Notably, it appears that the White House often uses artists’ music or content without their consent to promote their views and policies.
