Demi Lovato has finally shared her recovery experience during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

To celebrate the awareness week, the singer took to Instagram and shared pictures of herself in kitchen preparing cookies and lifting her cookbook titled One Plate at a Time.

The 33-year-old posted a touching caption of how she used to think that she couldn't achieve this, and was a "disordered" eater several years prior and how she has grown over time.

The Solo crooner marked, “this week is national eating disorder awareness week. It's a topic that is so close to my heart and one that is so important for us to continue to talk about.”

Lovato wrote, If you had told me 10 years ago who was struggling with disordered eating that she would one day be releasing a cookbook, she would never believe you.”

She went on to say, “I created this book from a place of knowing how intimidating the kitchen can be and after learning how important it is to nourish yourself.”

“It all started with taking tiny steps every day to heal my relationship with food, truly one plate at a time.”

Giving encouragement, she said, “If u are still struggling or in active recovery, know that i am here, know that u are not alone, and know that it can get better."

Lovato also gave credit to NEDA, its campaigns and resources and described herself as a work in progress while declaring her success.
