Sombr, whose full name is Shane Michael Boose, gave his debut performance at the BRITs 2026 but faced an unexpected situation.
The 20-year-old left his fans confused as he was pushed off stage by an intruder, who was wearing a shirt with the text at the back: “SOMBR IS A HOMEWRECKER.”
While many speculated that the singer is being accused of wrongdoing, it was later revealed to be a PR stunt for his new song.
Homewrecker, his new single, was released on February 6, 2026 and the move was performed to bring the song into spotlight.
One of the X users was of the opinion that it was “The Ariana shade???” however, another asked grok (AI bot by X) if it was staged.
It was confirmed to be a part of the performance, promoting his new track.
Meanwhile, several admirers called out the move as tone-deaf where a netizen was disappointed of him for using “this thing that literally happens to female artists as a way to get attention.”
Before his show, the 12 to 12 crooner shared his playful beef with Alex Warren during a red carpet interview as he admitted feeling “tense” after seeing the Grammy winner earlier.
According to the rising star, Alex was booby trapped by him before congratulating him on the new single FEVER DREAM which features Paris Hilton in the music video.
