Nicki Minaj is explaining her involvement and vocal support of the President of the United States recently, since she would not make as many political statements before.
The Barbie World singer has faced a lot of backlash for her surprising staunch and unwavering support of the Republican Party since she previously seemed to be against the businessman.
In a recent episode of the Katie Miller podcast, the eponymous host asked the rapper why the shift came to be, to which she replied that she somewhat always felt like it.
“You know what, Katie? I think that people’s steps are aligned. I used to always tell people this when I was growing up, I had this strong premonition my whole life that I had a second job to do. And this was, by the way, before I even made it in rap,” Nicki stated.
The Trinidadian rapper went on to note that something happened behind-the-scenes that made her act on her tendencies.
“So the last thing that really did it was…the presidential campaign, and knowing that I could help because the things that I was saying, it was happening. The things I was saying were coming to fruition. And so it made me think, oh, this is probably, this is easy,” Nicki added.
The 43-year-old added that her more recent and more prominent appearances, including one alongside the 79-year-old were also propelled by something that took place a few months ago.
Nicki’s political remarks have also been a major contributor in her social media followers plummeting.
