Todd Bridges confirms split from Bettijo B. Hirschi in emotional statement

Todd Bridges, best known for his role in Diff’rent Strokes, has announced that he and his wife Bettijo B. Hirschi are going their separate ways.

The 60-year-old actor shared the emotional news in a heartfelt statement, revealing that the decision did not come easily.

“After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” he said.

Roots star admitted the choice came with a “heavy heart” but also with gratitude for the time they spent together.

Bridges added that he remains thankful for the life they shared and believes faith will guide them both towards healing and peace during this painful transition.

The couple’s love story once seemed like a modern fairytale.

For those unfamiliar, they first met in January 2022 after Hirschi’s friend created a dating profile for her and casually showed it to Bridges for what she jokingly called “market research.”

Sparks flew quickly as just six months later, he got down on one knee, and by September 2022, the pair were married in a small and intimate ceremony.

It’s worth noting that this was Fish actor’s second marriage, as he was previously married to his first wife, Dori, from 1998 to 2012.

Notably, the former couple also share two children, son Spencir and daughter Bo. 

Despite the split, Todd’s words show respect and kindness as he asked fans for privacy and said he continues to pray for his former partner.
