Kiefer Sutherland got booked and arrested in Los Angeles after a rideshare incident facing serious charges, but has now been released on bond.
The Designated Survivor actor had the Los Angeles Police Department called on him near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood for threatening and harmful behaviour.
An LAPD officer, Kevin Terzes, explained to People what exactly occurred at the time, “On January 12, around 12:15 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a radio call regarding an assault involving a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.”
"The investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Kiefer Sutherland, entered a rideshare vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats toward the victim,” they added.
Meanwhile the alleged victim did not sustain any serious injuries and did not require medical treatment when the police arrived.
Sutherland was released, however, as per jail records on a pricey $50,000 bond on Monday, but is still required to show up in court on February 2nd and the incident is currently under investigation.
Notably, this is not the 59-year-old’s first run-in with the law, as he has been arrested a number of incidents linked to assault and occurrences involving vehicles.
Julia left Kiefer for his friend, actor Jason Patric, the day of the pair’s wedding causing major scandal in Hollywood.
