Gwyneth Paltrow says her 19-year-old son, Moses Martin, was “mortified” watching her intimate scenes with co-star Timothée Chalamet in her new film Marty Supreme.
The Iron Man star made the comments during a Q&A on January 9 at the San Vicente Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, as she promoted the movie’s release.
Paltrow, who shares Moses and daughter Apple, with ex-husband Chris Martin, laughed as she described her son’s reaction at the Marty Supreme Los Angeles premiere late last year, saying Moses “wanted to die” when the intimate sequences played on the big screen.
According to People, Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, stars Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a 1950s shoe salesman bent on becoming the world’s best table tennis player, alongside Paltrow and co-stars Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.
Moreover, the film has generated buzz for its blend of sports narrative and mature romantic elements.
Paltrow has been candid about the onscreen intimacy in the film, previously telling Vanity Fair that there is “a lot, a lot” of romantic content, a subject that grabbed headlines after photos circulated last year of her and Chalamet filming a passionate scene in Central Park.
