6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, became an internet sensation after he documented his surrender to FEDs through live stream.

On January 6, the 29-year-old singer was captured on Adin Ross’ stream as he turned himself in to serve three months in Brooklyn Jail.

Although the video was very much real, Daniel’s decision to do so was heavily judged online with many netizens alleging that it was a “publicity stunt.”

One of the X users was of the opinion that “it’s a script” to enter jail which has also held detainees like Diddy and ex-President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.

The recent arrests have sparked a wave of memes on the facility, which is now being termed a “celebrity jail.”

Another netizen sarcastically pointed out: “Omg, is streaming the best way to get news now?”

In 2018, the musician was taken in to custody for being related to the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods crime group.

After receiving a 47 years of imprisonment sentence, Daniel turned against other members and was convicted on nine counts. He served for 13 months before releasing in 2020.

Why did 6ix9ine get arrested recently?

For his release, the rapper was conditioned to a “five-year term of” supervision. The GOOBA hitmaker’s recent arrest was a result of violating the supervised release.
