American actress Sydney Sweeney has faced a lot of backlash this past year due to her brand affiliation choices and statements, yet she continues to bag projects.
The 28-year-old rose to fame from hit shows like Euphoria and The White Lotus, and is now working on movie projects.
The actress’ upcoming film is the movie adaptation of the 2022 novel The Housemaid written by Freida McFadden.
Despite the public criticism, Sydney continues o promote projects saying she wants to “impact and hopefully save people's lives”.
In conversation with BBC, the actress said “Being able to have a film that's on a more commercial level talk about a very difficult topic is important.”
The movie, along with her prevosu project Christy, address the sensitive topics of domestic violence.
Speaking about the original boon, Sydney said she is “a huge fan of the book” and is in love with all the characters.
“I love complex, juicy, crazy, twisted stories. This is a dream project”, she added.
Sydney stars in the movie alongside Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.
The movie was released worldwide on December 19, 2025 and has so far earned $27.7 million globally against a budget of $35 million.
