Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs legal team was not satisfied with the rap mogul’s 50 month sentencing, which is why they have filed a new, urgent request.

The Bad Boy Records founder’s attorneys have previously claimed that they believe judge Arun Subramanian acted like a thirteenth juror in the sex trafficking case, and inappropriately sentenced the 56-year-old.

“The judge defied the jury’s verdict and found Combs ‘coerced,’ ‘exploited,’ and ‘forced’ his girlfriends to have sex and led a criminal conspiracy," the filings noted.

"These judicial findings trumped the verdict and led to the highest sentence ever imposed for any remotely similar defendant…," they continued.

In the filings the lawyers compared Combs to other defendants that ran prostitution businesses that exploited vulnerable women and minors, adding that the court took into account all the evidence that the I’ll Be Missing You singer was acquitted of as well.

As a consequence of all this, they asked the court to issue an “immediate release and either grant a judgment of acquittal or vacate and remand for resentencing.”

It is unclear as of yet how the judge will respond to this urgent request for Combs’ release, since the filing is quite recent and the judge will take time to consider it.

What were the charges against Diddy?

Diddy was indicted in the Southern District of New York on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force and transportation for purposes of prostitution.
