Nicki Minaj deletes Instagram amid TPUSA backlash, fans freak out

Nicki Minaj has shocked fans once again and this time it's not with a new track, but with politics. 

The 43-year-old rap superstar made a surprise appearance at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event in Phoenix on December 21, sparking online chatter and, of course, backlash.

Fans were quick to react after the Super Bass hitmaker praised conservative figures, including Donald Trump and JD Vance, during an interview with Erika Kirk, widow of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. 

Minaj has also been vocal recently about supporting Christians in Nigeria, further signalling her political pivot.

Amid the stir, claims began circulating online that the Side to Side singer had lost over 10 million Instagram followers and even deleted her account. 

While it’s true that her Instagram is currently inactive, there’s no evidence to suggest such a massive follower drop. 

Social media analysts say she may have lost some followers, but not anywhere near the 10 million mark.

Fox News legal analyst Emily Compagno weighed in, noting, “Nicki may have lost followers on social media, but she has gained the respect of many.” 

Indeed, while some fans are clearly unhappy with her conservative turn, others admire her outspoken stance and willingness to back her beliefs.

It's worth noting that Minaj’s latest move proves she isn’t afraid to court controversy.
