American music icon Whitney Houston is set to receive a posthumous honour 13 years after her tragic death.
The I Will Always Love You singer is often considered one of the greatest female vocalists of all time.
However, the singer’s iconic career was cut short when she died in 2012 from drowning at the age of 48.
Whitney is now set to receive a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award next month.
The late performer’s legacy will be remembered at a ceremony in Los Angeles in January 2026.
At the ceremony, other artists to receive the honour include Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Cher, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon
Lifetime Achievement Awards are awarded to those who have contributed to the field of music and entertainment leaving behind an eternal legacy.
Born in 1963 in New Jersey, Whitney Elizabeth Houston started to sing at a very young age when she joined her mother's band as a background singer.
She went on to win 6 Grammys in her career including an Album of the Year for 1994 album The Bodyguard.
