James Van Der Beek opens up about health battle amid cancer treatment

James Van Der Veek has shared an insight into his health journey as he battles with cancer.
The Dawson’s Creek star recently drew criticism after skipping a show reunion due to illness.
The actor announced that he was diagnose with stage three colorectal cancer in November last year but clarified that his absence from the reunion was not cancer related.
The 48-year-old also lost weight sharply amid his health battle.
While making an appearance on Today show on Friday, James revealed the reason behind it that he was “hit with some stomach bugs”.
“The hardest part has been the patience this has required, as I’ll, say, make a plan and then not be able to follow through on it”, the actor said at his ranch in Texas.
He also gave good news to his fans saying “I feel much, much better than I did a couple months ago”.
James admitted that cancer, in a way, is a good thing that happened to him which taught him self-love.
“The biggest change would be this journey of self-love. What I realized was that I was worthy of love.” he said.
