Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are playfully teasing the idea of taking their on-screen musical chemistry on tour.

The Song Sung Blue stars, who play a real-life married couple forming a Neil Diamond tribute band in the film, have been delighting fans with live performances during the movie’s promotional run.

Jackman and Hudson have showcased their vocal harmonies at various events, including a surprise stage duet at Jackman’s final Radio City Music Hall concerts.

The duo also gave an impromptu performance following The Gotham Awards, where they received a Musical Tribute award.

At the New York City premiere of Song Sung Blue on Thursday, Dec. 11, the actors joked about a possible tour while speaking with PEOPLE.

“We’re signed,” Jackman quipped. “I’ve got the papers inside. And we’re not starting the screening until you’ve signed it.”

Hudson played along, saying she would “do it”, but only “under coercion.” Jackman added with a laugh, “I wanted 15 years and she’s negotiating me down to 12.” Hudson quipped back, “We’ll see.”

Directed by Craig Brewer and based on Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary, Song Sung Blue follows Jackman and Hudson as Mike and Claire Sardina, a couple navigating life, love, and music in their tribute band Lightning & Thunder.

The musical comedy is set to hit theaters Dec. 25.
