Amanda Seyfried has officially signed on for her next TV project with Prime video.
The actress is taking the lead in and serving as executive producer on Skinny Dip, a TV adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s novel.
The dramedy is currently in production at Prime Video after originally being set up at HBO Max, with sources noting the Amazon-owned streamer stepped in with a big offer to secure the series.
The show comes from Warner Bros. TV, with Once Upon a Time writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis penning the adaptation and Bill Lawrence attached as executive producer.
Skinny Dip follows Joey Perrone, whose second wedding anniversary goes disastrously wrong.
“She expected earrings, but instead, her husband Chaz had, shall we say, alternate plans. After unexpectedly finding herself on the other side of those plans, she vows to get revenge,” the logline reads. Teaming up with a disgraced ex-cop, Joey sets out to make Chaz pay in a story of murder, vengeance, and unexpected romantic comedy.
If it goes to series, Skinny Dip will be the third Hiaasen adaptation to reach the small screen in recent years, joining Apple TV’s Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn and ABC’s RJ Decker, based on Double Whammy.
Skinny Dip is set to premiere next year.
