Abel Tesfaye, notable for his famous persona The Weeknd, wiped his Instagram earlier as the end of his After Hours til Dawn tour draws near.

While the 35-year-old singer is looking forward to his alter ego's retirement, fans are speculating that his blank Instagram is him preparing for something new.

The Blinding Lights hitmaker turned to his empty social media page to share a cryptic update on his story after posting a click from an earlier concert.

One of the X users gushed about the move, writing: “I go back on Instagram after spending months off it” only to find the Grammy winner sharing “Evangelion.”

Another netizen was left confused as they re-shared the cryptic post and asked others: “[Please] someone explain to me what it means.”

Although for few it appears to be a random post, but die-hard admirers reminded others of a deeper connection between Anime and his music.

In 2020, The Weekend dropped an anime-style music video of Snowchild from the deluxe version of his hit album After Hours.

Moreover, the musician and Thundercat posted pictures of late Michael Jackson few days ago, which was seen as a hint at their upcoming collaboration.

Although his fans continue to speculate about the Popular crooner’s upcoming move, Abel is yet to make a much-anticipated comeback with new projects.
