Margot Robbie, who welcomed her first child with her husband Tom Ackerley in October 2024, has made it clear that becoming a mother hasn’t changed her firm stance on keeping her private life out of the spotlight.
The 35-year-old actress, best known for her role as Harley Quinn, says she has no intention of letting the public into her son’s world.
Speaking candidly to British Vogue, Margot admitted she’s become far more guarded after repeatedly being “burnt” by interviews early in her career.
“I’m trying to keep that side of things private and protect him,” she said.
“Earlier in my career I’d speak more freely, but I’ve been burnt so many times. People take things out of context… I read things I never even said.”
The Squid Game alum recalled the shock of seeing fake quotes about herself splashed across newspapers.
“I remember seeing it and thinking, ‘They just made it up?’"
Now in her 30s, she says she’s established firm new boundaries, and motherhood has only sharpened them.
Alongside her personal revelations, the Barbie actress is gearing up for the release of Emerald Fennell’s high-profile adaptation of Wuthering Heights, where she stars opposite Jacob Elordi.
The casting of the Australian pair has stirred debate, particularly Elordi taking on the role of Heathcliff, historically described as “dark-skinned.”
Meanwhile, Margot’s previous film with Colin Farrell, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, failed to meet fans’ expectations, leaving many disappointed.
But this time, audiences are hopeful that the duo will deliver a far stronger performance and truly shine on screen.
