Sabrina Carpenter has some interesting things to say about her latest album Man’s Best Friend and its controversial cover art.

The Manchild hit maker has previously insisted that the artwork, which featured the singer on her hands and knees with an anonymous man grabbed some of her hair, was misunderstood.

She maintained that it was perfectly in alignment with the tracks and theme of the album.

In her latest interview with Variety, the songwriter further explains, “It was about how people try to control women, and how I felt emotionally yanked around by these relationships that I had, and how much power you’re allowing yourself to give them.”

Sabrina affirmed that she was the one in power and sometimes smart women knowingly get themselves in bad situations because they are in control.

Elsewhere the Nobody’s Son singer added that the interpretations of the cover were endless but that didn’t impact her.

"Not to bypass the weight that it did carry for some people. I saw it and was like, ‘That is a great point. It wasn’t the point I was trying to make,'" she stated.

The two-time Grammy winner also hinted that she believes one of the reasons people were so surprised was because she was a child star and they had a set of expectations from her, that she never intended to comply with when she got older.

Is Sabrina Carpenter still single?

Sabrina is reportedly single as of now, after she split up with the Irish actor Barry Keoghan.
