Robert Irwin has added a glittering new accolade to his name, and this time, he had royal backing.
The 21-year-old TV personality and his professional partner Witney Carson scooped the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing With the Stars earlier this week.
Notably, they earned praise from fans and stars alike, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Robert, clearly over the moon, shared a jubilant Instagram reel of the winning moment, captioning it: “Dreams do come true”.
The royal couple were quick to comment, writing: “Congratulations Robert and Witney!”
Celebrity fans also joined the chorus. Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham gushed: “ROBERRRRRRT! YES! It couldn’t have gone any other way… congratulations my friend!”
Fellow contestants Lauren Jauregui and Danielle Fishel sent warm messages too, celebrating the his impressive run on the dancefloor.
For the unknown, the win came after a whirlwind few weeks for Robert, who had to make a tough choice between performing on the show and attending the Earth Shot Prize in Rio de Janeiro with Prince William.
But his sacrifice paid off, especially after a surprise phone call from the future King, who jokingly urged him to “put on as much glitter as possible” and said Robert had a “seriously good chance of winning.”
The wildlife presenter later admitted the royal encouragement meant “the absolute world” to him.
