Miss Universe pageant was held in Thailand
The annual Miss Universe competition, held in Thailand, has crowned its newest winner.
The 74th edition of the pageant took place in Bangkok on November 21, with the winner announced via an Instagram post.
Fatima Bosch of Mexico, dressed in a striking red gown, was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.
The 25-year-old humanitarian and volunteer earned the title after participating in interviews and competing in the evening gown and swimsuit segments.
Her red gown fit her perfectly, accentuating her sleek figure for the special evening.
After the event, Fatima’s makeup artist took to social media to praise her, writing, “You did it.”
The finalist was cheered by her family and friends even before she was crowned, as she received a bunch of bouquets.
This comes after Miss Jamaica fell off the stage and was hospitalised, and two judges, musician Omar Harfouch and former French footballer Claude Makélélé, resigned.
The controversy followed allegations by Omar that the impromptu jury had already chosen the finalists and that the competition was “rigged.”
It is worth noting that the first runner-up was 29-year-old Praveenar Singh from Thailand.
