Jimmy Kimmel’s old friend, and the Jimmy Kimmel Live! band leader Cleto Escobedo III left the host and fans heartbroken after his passing.
The musician was 59, and his death was announced on November 11 and it turns out the Cleto and the Cletones leader was facing a number of health issues.
As per TMZ, the death certificate for the father-of-two listed cardiogenic shock as the immediate cause, with a numer of underlying issues following behind.
Vasodilatory shock, disseminated intravascular coagulation and alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver are listed as the primary causes.
Meanwhile there was also graft versus host disease, immunosuppressed, sepsis, pneumonia and chronic kidney disease were also contributors into Cleto’s death.
Cardiogenic shock occurs when a person’s heart can’t pump enough blood for their body and can be caused by a "large or severe heart attack."
Cleto’s passing has taken a toll on the comedian, who couldn’t hold back tears while announcing the heartbreaking news of his childhood friend passing in his monologue on the show.
Notably, Jimmy also took a two-day break from Jimmy Kimmel Live! to mourn the death of his beloved pal.
Jimmy’s friend, Cleto Escobedo III, passed away due to complications from a liver transplant.
