Ariana Grande has revived her natural brunette hair color for the new musical fantasy sequel, Wicked: For Good, press tour.
The Grammy-winning pop sensation moves from her signature blonde style, which she used for the original Wicked film, as she dyes her hair brown for the press campaign.
Recently, while speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Grande revealed how her new hair embodies her Wicked role, Glinda, to align with her character’s moral complexity.
“It’s fun to play with the storytelling on a press tour,” Grande told ET. “With the first press tour, I kind of wanted to celebrate Glinda in a more on-the-nose way.”
The record-breaking artist is glad that Glinda can “show up as the actress that played her and play into the darker tones of the movie.”
However, fans have mixed reactions to Grande’s statement and the storytelling projection for a hair dye.
While some fans make it a big deal, other viewers feel it's an exaggeration.
“Bro… Ariana out here making hair dye sound like a plot twist,” a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “It’s a press tour, not Hogwarts, calm down with the 'storytelling.’”
Meanwhile, some fans thought it was just a wig for the movie, not an actual transformation.
Wicked: For Good releases on November 21.
