Why Ariana Grande was moved to tears by Sarah Jessica Parker?

Ariana Grande was left completely stunned and in tears, after receiving a surprise message from her idol, Sarah Jessica Parker.

The 32-year-old pop superstar, who first rose to fame playing Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious before launching her chart-topping music career, recently appeared on the latest episode of the Shut Up Evan podcast.

During the interview, host Evan Ross Katz created an emotional moment by saying, “I know you’re a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker,” before surprising her with a special voicemail from the Sex and the City and Hocus Pocus star herself.

“Greetings, Ariana. It’s Sarah Jessica, and I have a question…” Parker began. 

“She’s so extraordinarily gifted and has achieved such control over her career. My question is — when she was little, what did she imagine it would be like when she said, ‘I want to be an actor?’”

Grande was overwhelmed with emotion as she listened to the message, her eyes filling with tears before she said, “I adore her so much…”

The Zoolander 2 actress then took a deep breath before responding to her idol’s message, admitting that fame hasn’t always been easy. 

“It’s peculiar, and it’s hard to navigate,” she confessed. 

“I don’t think I was prepared for that part — but I’m proud of the work I’ve done to separate myself from fame.”

She also opened up about a difficult period in her life, revealing that she had considered quitting music altogether. 

The Bang Bang singer admitted she “didn’t want to make any more music” before starting work on her upcoming movie Wicked, explaining that she needed time to reconnect with her passion and rediscover joy in creating again.
