Victoria Beckham, before she became a Spice Girl alum or British fashion designer, was mocked at her school.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper on Tuesday, October 22, the former pop star revealed the emotional and physical bullying she experienced.
"I remember standing in the playground, literally standing on my own and kids just picking up Coke cans from puddles and throwing them at me," she said.
Beckham added that there wasn’t enough discussion about mental health like the world discusses today, “so I just internalized all of that,” she said about bullying.
“It just made me more and more shy," the style icon said.
Beckham also revealed that she was an “awkward” teen who "didn't fit in socially because when all the other kids after school were smoking and hanging out, I was going to dancing lessons or I was going to drama lessons."
After sharing her experience of being bullied as a child, Beckham noted that her parents’ support pulled her out of the trance.
Otherwise, she was "ashamed and embarrassed" to vocalize the harassment she was dealing with. "I didn't tell anybody... my entire school life was miserable."
