Nicole Kidman made a graceful return to the spotlight this week, marking her first public appearance since filing for divorce from Keith Urban.
On Saturday night, October 4, the Oscar-winning actress attended the amfAR Dallas auction, where she presented Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan with the Award of Inspiration.
Dressed in a sleek black off-the-shoulder gown, Kidman took the stage with poise and purpose. “I think what Taylor recognizes, as we all do, is that we are all more alike than we are different, and that we're better when we look out for each other,” she said in a video obtained by PEOPLE.
“That, of course, is why we're here tonight — to help fund bold and innovative research,” the actress added.
The Being the Ricardos star and Sheridan previously worked together on the Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness, where Kidman plays CIA official Kaitlyn Meade.
The event, held at the home of United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby, marked Kidman’s first major outing since news of her split from Urban after 18 years of marriage.
A source told PEOPLE that the actress had “been stressed for months” leading up to the announcement but is now “focused on what’s ahead and her girls,” daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.
Their separation was confirmed by the Daily Mail on Monday, September 29, with Kidman filing for divorce the following day, citing irreconcilable differences.
