The first trailer has dropped for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story featuring Addison Rae.
This will mark the first serious role that the actress has taken on, however, people still remain unimpressed by the casting.
One user remarked, “netflix really said ‘let’s cast a tiktok star to play in america’s most disturbing true crime anthology.’”
“Addison Rae playing a notorious killer’s story Really, Hollywood? Where’s the line between art and glorifying crime?,” added another.
Others expressed a desire to see her improve since her role in the rom-com He's All That, “Really hope that her acting has gotten better since her last movie.”
“Netflix really said: jump scare casting. Addison Rae speedrunning every genre now,” observed one user.
“Monster: The Ed Gein Story tells the story of how one simple man in Plainfield, Wisconsin, became history's most singular ghoul. He revealed to the world the most horrific truth of all — that monsters aren't born, they're made ... by us,” reads the synopsis.
The previous parts in the anthology including Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and the second season is Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story attracted major backlash for glorifying crime for entertainment purposes.
