Katie Holmes makes rare bold style statement at NYFW

Katie Holmes, widely recognised for her understated style, sent the fashion crowd into a frenzy at New York Fashion Week.

The 46-year-old actress, who rose to fame as Joey Potter in Dawson’s Creek, ditched her minimalist style for a strikingly vibrant look.

Famed for her love of sultry monochrome ensembles, she stole the spotlight in a daring all-red outfit.

Katie wowed in a scarlet silk maxi dress, layered beneath a sweeping overcoat and paired with matching pumps.

Her glossy waves and bold red lip gave The Ice Storm star a touch of pure Hollywood glamour.

Notably, the dramatic display marked a bold departure from the low-key denim-and-jacket combination she wore earlier in the week. 

On that occasion, she kept things effortlessly chic in light-wash jeans, a cropped jacket and ankle boots.

Speaking to Vogue earlier this year, the Coda actress admitted she usually prefers easy silhouettes and comfortable basics. 

“For spring, I can’t wait to get back into tank tops with long skirts or baggy trousers… I’m sick of all the laundry!” she joked.

Despite the fuss over her fashion choices, Katie has remained refreshingly grounded.
