Jennifer Lopez reveals a role she almost landed
The singer has a prolific acting portfolio
American pop star Jennifer Lopez is widely known for her hit songs but also has featured in multiple critically acclaimed movies.
The singer, who recently marked one year of filing for divorce from former husband Ben Affleck, has given hit movies like Maid in Manhattan and Selena.
Now, the Hollywood diva has revealed there was another role she almost landed.
The role was revealed to be Alan Parker’s Evita which she later found out went to another pop icon Madonna.
The 1996 movie featured the Queen of Pop as Eva Peron, First Lady to Argentina’s President Juan Péron.
Revealing how it went down, JLo recalled Alan telling her, “You’re amazing. You know Madonna has the part, right?”
“I had been practising for weeks”, the pop star told Variety.
Eventually she laughed it off and later had a successful acting career.
The pop icon is now starring in Bill Condon’s remake of the 1976 novel, Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Her new project is being tipped as her shot at finally getting her first Oscar nomination after the snub of 2019 film Hustlers.
