Barbara Palvin reveals 'painful' reason for brief hiatus from spotlight

The model turned to her Instagram to share an update about her heath, penning down a strong message for her fans.

Along with a carousel of her recent surgery, Barbara revealed in the caption about the “difficulties that can come with [her] periods,” listing down the symptoms.

The Hercules actress admitted she even spent several “sleepless nights on the bathroom floor.”

She was diagnosed with endometriosis after visiting a specialist and was operated for the condition after three months. This resulted in her brief hiatus to “rest and fully heal.”

In the statement, the Victoria’s Secret Angel urged her fans to also “find out” if they are facing the same condition.

She insisted that this “early diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent long-term complications.”

Fans shared well wishes for the model and were grateful to her for “spreading awareness about” the condition.

Another admirer found this post relatable as they shared personal experience: “I’m 52 years old and I’ve suffered from endometriosis since I was 16… I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I send you a big hug.”

While the star and the Disney actor express their love openly for one another, this is one of the few instances where Barbara revealed intimate details about herself.

What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a condition where cells, resembling the inner lining of the uterus, start growing on the outside of the organ. This can result in painful periods, pain with bowl movements or urination and infertility.
