Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, was left devastated as news emerged that his beloved mother, Jacklyn “Jackie” Bezos, had passed away.
Jackie, who launched the Bezos Family Foundation, reportedly died peacefully at her Miami home on August 14, 2025, aged 78.
The 61-year-old businessman paid tribute to his late mother, recalling her fierce love and dedication to family.
"Today she left us, surrounded by many who loved her - her children, grandchildren and my father. I'm sure she felt our love in her final moments. We were very lucky to have her in our lives. She will always remain in my heart," he penned emotional message.
He also revealed the cause of her death saying, "After a long fight with Lewy Body Dementia, she passed away today."
Jeff’s wife, Lauren Sánchez, also shared the news on Instagram Stories with a broken heart emoji.
“Although Jackie may be gone from our sight, her love remains with us always—a bright shining light that will never fade. She will be missed beyond words,” she wrote.
Jackie is survived by her husband Mike Bezos, children Christina and Mark, 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Jeff Bezos has been married twice. He was first married to MacKenzie Scott, with whom he has four children, and the couple divorced in 2019.
He later married Lauren Sánchez on June 27 in Venice, Italy; she has three children of her own.
