Sydney Sweeney's involvement in an American Eagle commercial that led to US President Donald Trump crowning her his anti-woke queen, fans ruthlessly criticised her sense of style.
At the Hollywood premiere of her movie Americana on Sunday, the 27-year-old actress, who was publicly jeered for the issue, was pulled over her busty appearance while wearing a bustier gown with a tulle skirt that was custom-made by bridal designer Danielle Frankel.
She was criticised for her fashion choices, particularly the $18 pale yellow Bahay Kubo "Bahay" headband she wore with the outfit, which was designed by stylist Molly Dickson.
It was related to Sweeney's contentious American Eagle campaign, which was charged with promoting aspirational Nazi-style eugenics.
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality, and even eye colour,” Sydney said in the commercial. “My jeans are blue.”
The Republican who recently registered has not yet responded to criticism of her contentious American Eagle campaign in public.
The clip showed The White Lotus star buttoning up her bottoms as she spoke breathily: “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring… my jeans are blue.”
