Well known rapper Soulja Boy was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday when the authorities discovered a firearm at a traffic stop.
L.A. authorities explained that he was pulled over around Melrose Avenue and North Genesee Avenue, with one of the passengers being the rapper, born DeAndre Cortez Way.
He was then arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon who was in possession of a firearm.
They did not reveal why he was pulled over, the details of the firearm, nor the identity of the other passenger.
He is best known for his 2007 hit track Crank That (Soulja Boy) as well as other songs including Turn My Swag On and Kiss Me thru the Phone.
Notably, Way was recently found liable for sexual battery, assault and gender violence by a jury.
This took place after a lawsuit was filed against him by a woman who claimed to have been hired previously as his assistant. She accused him of having sexually assaulted and beaten her, as well as keeping her as a prisoner after her hiring.
The rapper insisted that the relationship took place consensually, but was found guilty by the jury at the end.
