David Roach, who was notable as the front man of Junkyard, passed away at the age of 59 after long health battle.
The star, who laid the foundation of the band Junkyard in 1987, lost his battle to skin cancer few weeks after tying knot.
According to GoFundMe, David suffered from an aggressive form of carcinoma which had an impact on different parts of his body.
The group released a statement through their social media, declaring: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Roach.”
They admitted that the singer fought a “courageous battle with cancer” before peacefully passing away last night “in the loving arms of his wife.”
The band gushed about the departed soul for being a “gifted artist, performer, songwriter and singer.”
Chris Gates, his band member, paid a heartfelt tribute for the musician, noting: “I loved him like a little brother,” a bond which “never changed.”
David’s newly wedded wife Jennifer penned down a note about his battle with the deadly disease, insisting that it has proven to be a “devastating and life-altering” event for the two
Jennifer admitted: “We’re trying to navigate through the emotions and uncertainty that comes with it.”
